CAPA CALENDAR 2015-2018

5) CAPA Calendar 2015 - 2018
Concurrent or sequential? It is clear that a strategically planned and ordered approach is called for. The full release of the records may require congressional oversight hearings. A media campaign based on a solid strategy that will educate the public could be the prologue needed to prod Congress to action.

Towards that end we have reorganized under the CAPA banner. The work is a continuation of efforts by such predecessors such as the Assassination Information Bureau, the Committee to Investigate Assassinations, the Assassination Archives and Research Center, the Committee for an Open Archives and COPA – the Coalition on Political Assassinations.

While Oliver Stone’s motion picture may have contributed to the momentum to get the JFK Records Act passed, it was the tireless work of many hundreds of independent researchers who fought in public and lobbied behind the scenes to get that law passed. Now we have to see it through. This isn’t a sprint, but we are now coming into the final stretch of a marathon and need to persevere as we approach the October 2017 end game.
